1. Laoshan Scenic Area: Laoshan Mountain, located at the seashore of the Yellow Sea, is a famous tourist destination. It has the highest coastal peak of China, Laoding, 1,133 meters above sea level.

2. No.1 Bathing Beach: The biggest bathing beach in Asia, No. 1 Bathing Beach is famed for soft sand, clean water and calm waves. It is surrounded by graceful scenery: mountains in three directions, luxuriant green trees and modern high-rise buildings alongside waterfront villas.


3. Badaguan (Eight Passes) Area: Badaguan is a must-see for visitors to Qingdao. It’s one of the best places to take in Qingdao’s best features: red tiles, green trees, blue sea and sky. Here, the parks and the courtyards blend into one another along intersecting roads ornamented with a variety of trees and seasonal flowers.


4. Little Qingdao Isle: Little Qingdao Isle is located in Qingdao Bay, which is on the north side of the Jiaozhou Bay estuary. Along with Zhan Qiao Pier, Little Qingdao Isle is a symbol of Qingdao. Its shape resembles a guqin, an ancient Chinese instrument, so the island is also called Qin Island.


5. Qingdao Catholic Church: Qingdao Catholic Church, originally called St. Michael’s Church, was designed in a Gothic and Romanesque style by a German architect. The church, built with yellow granite and reinforced concrete is carved in a simple, graceful style.


6. Tianheng Island: Tianheng Island is a long narrow island. The island gets its name from Tianheng, a king of the state of Qi in the early Han Dynasty, who once inhabited the island. The most famous local historical site, the mass grave of 500 warriors who supported Tianheng, is located in the western part of the island.


7. Zhanshan Temple: Situated at the eastern foot of Taiping Hill on Qingdao’s West Xianggang Road, Zhanshan Temple is the only Buddhist temple in the urban area of Qingdao. It has five rows of buildings in its courtyard, including the Main Hall, Hall of the Three Saints (Sansheng Hall), Palace of the Heavenly King, guest rooms and a library of scriptures that holds 6000 volumes of sacred texts.

To young people, one thing that should not be missed is the bar life. The Qingdao entertainment district is located in the downtown area of the east part and the Stone Old Man (Shi Lao Ren) Tourism Holiday area. Although the nightlife in Qingdao is becoming more active every year, it is more subdued than in other major cities.


The Honolulu Club, on the first floor of Huiquan Dynasty Hotel, No. 9, Nanhai Road. It is a famous pub in Qingdao China that deserves a try.

Best Time to Visit Qingdao China


Qingdao is located at the seashore of Yellow River and influenced distinctly by maritime climate. The annual average temperature is 12.3°C. You nearly never meet the hot days with daily average temperature above 30°C. Very hot weathers are rare in Qingdao China. But the winter in Qingdao is long, with low temperature and strong winds. And the average temperature is -0.9°C. Although in spring, the temperature is also not very high. So the best time to visit Qingdao is in summer. Qindao in summer has comfortable seawater, soft sand and appropriate temperature, and holds many local special festivals like Beer Festival, fashion Festival, etc. Moreover, it is also a good season to taste the delicious seafood.

Public Bus
Because of its hilly terrain, few people use bicycles or motorcycles in the city. Consequently, the public bus is the main vehicle in Qingdao China. Standard bus fare is CNY1; fare on an air-conditioned bus is CNY2.


Air-conditioned Tourist Bus
The bus starts from the railway station via Zhongyuan Sea Square, Zhan Bridge, and the Christian Church. Bus fares are CNY8 or CNY4. You can take the bus 5 times with a CNY8 ticket and twice with a CNY4 ticket. The first bus leaves at 7:30 and the last at 17:30.


If you intend to climb Mt. Laoshan, you can take the tourist special bus at Huaneng Square any time from 7:00 to 10:30 in the morning. It takes you about one hour to the Beijiushui Scenic Spot.


The taxi fee is CNY7 for the first 4 kilometers from 5:00 to 22:00, CNY1.2 for every succeeding kilometer and CNY1.8 for every succeeding kilometer after 6 kilometers. From 22:00 to 5:00 next day, the taxi fee is CNY7 for the first 3 kilometers, CNY1.6 per kilometer between 3 to 6 kilometers and CNY2.2 after 6 kilometers.


The ferryboat between Qingdao Old City and Huangdao enhances the ties of two sides of Jiaozhou Bay. It takes 20 to 30 minutes by ferryboat to Huangdao. Ordinary Boat: the first departure is at 6:30, the last at 21:00. The interval is 30 minutes and the boat fare is CNY7.High-speed Boat: the first departure is at 7:20, the last at 17:00. The interval is 20 minutes and the boat fare is CNY 9.5.
