Tips for Transportation in Shenzhen

 

There are three means of transportation in Shenzhen including bus, subway and taxi.
Buses: Bus ticket prices vary from 1 Yuan to 3 Yuan. If you want to visit the famous attractions in Shenzhen, the five tourist lines which connect to all of the tourist attractions will take you there.

 

Subway: Consists of five lines, the subway in Shenzhen are available from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm every day (in some festivals, the service may go to midnight). the initial price is 2 Yuan for the first 4 kilometers, and after that 1 yuan is charged for each 4 km (between 4 km and 12 km), or 1 Yuan for each 6 km (between 12 km and 24 km), or 1 Yuan for each 8 km (over 8 km). The fare rise according to how far you travel.

 

Taxi: The taxis in Shenzhen are different in colors. There are three colors for the taxis—red, yellow and green. Green taxis are only available in the Special Economic Zone.

 

Price for Taxis: The price of taxis is decided by whether you are out of the Special Economic Zone. If you are not out of the zone, the fare is 10 Yuan for the first 2 kilometers (about 1.2 miles), and 2.4 Yuan for each additional kilometer. If you are outside the zone, the fare for a green taxi is 6 Yuan for the first 1.5 kilometers and that for a red and a yellow taxi is 10 Yuan for the first 2 kilometers, and 2.4 Yuan for each additional kilometer.
